The art exhibit will highlight the extraordinary artwork of Ken Landon Buck. Ken is an internationally recognized award-winning mixed media artist working primarily in watercolor, acrylics, and pastels.

Ken has achieved signature status in numerous watercolor and pastel societies nationwide and has won “Best of Show” awards and prizes in the top juried national exhibitions.

His work has been featured in national and international publications, including Encyclopedia of Living Artists in America, Artists of Ohio, Creative Watercolor, Pastel Journal, Manifest: The Nude 2, and “Ichimal no E” magazine in Japan. An article about his drawing techniques was printed in the Pastel Society of America’s magazine, Pastelagram. In 2020, he was named one of the Pastel Journal’s Top 100 artists.  He was also recently featured on WCET’s program “The Art Show”.

His paintings are in numerous private and public collections including the Cincinnati Financial Corporation, Baker Hunt Foundation, the Erlanger Public Library, and the Springfield Museum of Art.

Ken has taught pastel and watercolor classes for many years at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and Baker-Hunt Art and Cultural Center.  Ken began teaching at the Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center in 2015. His classes quickly gained popularity among students eager to learn his techniques. He encourages his students to see color, line, and movement in new ways. In 2021, he was named Baker Hunt Artist-in-Residence where he now has an art studio in the newly renovated Scudder building on the Baker Hunt historic campus.

Buck creates dynamic figurative works of art and is best known for his striking large-scale scenes of swimmers interacting with light and water.

“I have to paint. It’s all I do. I think it, sleep it, wake up and constantly think about art. I know this sounds hokey but it’s true.”, says Ken Buck with a chuckle. “Before painting, I draw a lot and erase a lot until I have that moment. I re-draw and re-draw until it’s perfect for me.”

“We are honored to feature the exceptional artwork of accomplished artist, Ken Buck.” says Starr Shebesta, ARTclectic Gallery Gallerist. “The local art-loving community will be amazed by his extraordinary talent.”

This featured art exhibit will be on display for the months of September and October, along with works from other accomplished Cincinnati artists encompassing representational and abstract wall art, sculptures, and textiles.
